The constraint
CrossPlus sells snap-on passenger footpegs for off-road and enduro motorcycles worldwide. It had an older site and needed a shop it could actually run: a catalogue with a brand and model selector, a compatibility list buyers check before ordering, and pages the owner can edit himself. We built that store on WordPress and WooCommerce in 2024, and it is his to run today — he edits the products, the prices and the pages. One thing the platform could not do was collect proof. The default WooCommerce reviews tab takes a rating and a paragraph and nothing else: no photograph of the part on the buyer's own bike, no moderation step before a review goes live, and no structured markup for search engines to read. For a part bought on fit and durability, a photo from another rider is the argument. So we also wrote CrossPlus Reviews, an in-house WooCommerce plugin: star ratings, photo uploads, moderation, a reCAPTCHA v3 spam guard, Elementor widgets that place the form and the list anywhere on the page, and schema.org review markup. And we produce the Meta ad creatives the store runs.
The system

- //01The store itself: WordPress and WooCommerce, built in 2024 to replace an older site

- //02A product page with a brand and model selector and totals that update in place

- //03A compatibility list buyers check before they order

- //04CrossPlus Reviews: an in-house WooCommerce plugin with star ratings and photo uploads
- //05A moderation step, so no review reaches the product page unchecked

- //06A catalogue the client edits himself: products, prices and pages

- //07Meta ad creatives we produced for the store

- //08Meta ad creatives we produced for the store

- //09Meta ad creatives we produced for the store
What changed
- //01The store is the client's to run: he edits products, prices and pages himself
- //02Buyers can attach a photo of the part on their own bike to a review
- //03Every submitted review passes moderation before it appears on the product page
- //04Reviews carry schema.org markup, so search engines can read the ratings
What we'd do differently
The ratings and customer counts printed on the product pages are the brand's marketing copy, not our numbers. When we captured these screens no review had been submitted through the plugin yet, so the block shows its empty state: the collector is live, the proof it collects is not there. What we would do differently: ship the post-purchase review request in the same release as the plugin, instead of building the collector and leaving the asking to the shop.
